Day 31: Reading Day!

We modified the plans for today and made it a reading day after we found the laundry/food storage room floor covered (not completely but enough) in water.  We got back from an almost 2 mile walk to find the water on the floor.  Good news:  the laundry room is clean!  Bad news:  We had to turn off the hot water until Aaron gets home and can see what the problem is.  He is handy so I am not worried.

Even after modifying the schedule we still got a ton of reading in.  As usual we are playing catch up.  I can't find the balance between being slackers and doing way too much.  :)  Jake is reading his math today and doing the problems tomorrow.  Every now and then I let him read it all and figure it out on his own.  I could probably do that every day but it is way to much fun to stand at the board and do problems.  Chalk boards rock!
Jake of course spent some time reading on the trampoline. . . and some in his bed.  Public (or as Stossel calls it Government schools) schoolers will be jealous if they saw this.  Notice how I am focusing on only his bed?  That is because his floor is covered in Legos. No surprise there.  We are reading Amos Fortune and The History of Us:  Book 2 together so I got to lay in his bed and read to him while he built with his Lego's.
Have I mentioned that homeschooling is awesome?
